Primary Veterinary Services Long Beach CA - Pet Wellness Care
What We Offer You and Your Pet
Questions about your dog or cat’s behavior? We’ll provide guidance on how to best meet your pet’s environmental (physical surroundings) and social needs, including recognizing fear and stress, and preventing and managing noise phobias, separation anxiety, and inappropriate soiling.
We have an in-house lab for routine blood work and urinalysis for your convenience and speed time to diagnosis. For more complex testing, we have an established relationship with a trusted reference lab. In addition, we have onsite digital radiology and ultrasound (abdominal and cardiac).
This encompasses a wide range of veterinary medical care, including dermatology (diagnosing and managing skin allergies, infections, and ear disease) and internal medicine (diagnosing and managing diabetes, thyroid conditions, liver, kidney, or pancreas diseases, and other ailments of the intestinal tract).
With a full in-house pharmacy, we can meet your pet’s immediate needs for many prescription medications. Or you can use our online pharmacy and have medications delivered to your door.
Senior Pet Care
Just like humans, dogs and cats can experience various age-related health challenges. Senior pets require more attention, including more frequent visits to the veterinarian so signs of illness or other problems can be detected early and treated. Sometimes dietary changes or alternations to the home environment are recommended. Our overarching goal is to keep your pet as healthy as possible for as long as possible.
At Freckles and Friends Pet Clinic, our experienced veterinarian has the training and experience to perform a range of soft-tissue surgeries and selected orthopedic procedures. If your pet needs more advanced surgical care, we will refer you to trusted specialists.
Vaccinations are a critical part of your pet’s wellness. They help avoid expensive treatments for diseases, such as distemper and rabies, that can be prevented. Vaccinations also prevent diseases that can be spread between animals and from animals to people. We offer all appropriate vaccinations based on your pet’s life stage and lifestyle, and are aligned with national guidelines.
Dental health is a vital component of overall health in pets, just like in humans. Every pet gets an oral exam at each visit. Plus, we provide routine dental x-rays and cleanings, as well extractions if needed.
This final stage of a pet’s life calls for care that focuses on comfort and quality of life. We provide supportive, compassionate care that aims to maintain the special bond you have with your beloved pet. And when it’s time to say goodbye, we’ll be with you every step of the way to ensure a peaceful passing and arrange for your beloved pet’s remains to be handled with respect and dignity.
Your pet’s diet plays an important role in maintaining good health. We provide guidance on appropriate feeding for your pet’s life stage, how to prevent and reduce obesity, keep them in good physical shape, and how to support their health with sound nutrition.
Give your new pet the best possible start in life with a complete health assessment and individualized plan of properly staged vaccinations, parasite control, and wellness screening. We’ll also discuss other services that could help your new furry friend live a longer, healthier life, such as spaying/neutering (see below).
Spaying or neutering is one of the most important things you can do for your pet. It prevents the birth of unwanted litters and related pet homelessness, helps protect pets against some serious health problems, and helps reduce many behavioral problems associated with the mating instinct.
If your pet is an established patient at our clinic and is experiencing a medical problem that requires same-day medical attention, we provide urgent care appointments during our regular hours of operation. Maintaining your pet’s wellness is our ultimate objective here at Freckles and Friends Pet Clinic.
